1. First after unpacking the box and setting unit on counter-do not plug unit in. This is called dry plugging and WILL void your warranty.
2. You need to get a "pour" pitcher of some sort if your unit did not come with one.
3. 3.Make sure to have a decanter/airpot or other vessel set under unit to catch run-off.
4. Measure amount of water into pitcher that you will be brewing into. A decanter(pot) is 64oz. so measure accordingly.
5. Fill a minimum of 3 pour pitchers and pour into unit. Some water will come out in third pour. If no water escapes unit, pour more water in until it does so.
   5. Now you know the unit's tank is full and you may now plug unit in.
   **Note: You may have to turn T-stat on.
6. Wait until unit is finished heating water - average is 20 minutes on initial set-up.
   *** You are now ready to brew.
   
   
   *** If you have an automatic brewer you can not use the start switch to brew UNTIL you have hooked it to a water line.

1. Make sure T-stat is off.
2. Make sure decanter or other vessel is under brew funnel.
3. Hit brew switch on automatic wait until you here solenoid stop, repeat until unit dispenses water into decanter.
4. Turn on T-stat.
5. Now whatever amount you pour into unit is what will come out. In starting a new batch make sure vessel under unit is empty or adjust water being poured in. An automatic has a timer or other device that tells the unit the amount to brew and will not know that any liquid remains in vessel. You may experience an "overflow" as a result, as well as a mess, so please make sure all vessels are empty before hand.
